We
are very excited about the possibilities raised by the new .net platform. We
still view Microsoft Access as the first choice for rapid LAN application development,
but it has shortcomings when the information
needs to be displayed or edited on the web. The
facilities native to Access, such as Data
Access Pages and predecessor technology, impose
numerous workstation and browser constraints. Active
Server Pages (ASP) place the burden on the server rather than the workstation, but
development is very time-consuming compared
to development using Access.
ASP.net
offers an excellent platform for developing rich web based applications much quicker
than traditional web development. The dynamic portions of this site are 100%
ASP.net driven by an Access database. For some more examples of how we have
implemented ASP.net solutions, check out the ASP.net
Portfolio section of this site.
